Why the vitamin B trap in Montenegro is risky
The trap rarely begins with an open claim. It starts with closeness: Family in the government, good contacts, short distances, eating together, a confidential tone and the feeling that you almost belong. The problem is not hospitality. The problem is the mixture of claimed access, personal ties and actual performance.
German prospective customers in particular easily confuse warmth with reliability. However, friendliness is no substitute for a definition of services, official responsibility, transparent pricing logic or verifiable documentation.
It becomes critical as soon as an expectation arises from closeness: Payment, favors, consideration, loyalty or the unspoken obligation to no longer clearly say no. Those who are unable to decide freely at this point are often already stuck in an informal logic of guilt.
Note: This page does not evaluate specific criminal offenses and is not a substitute for legal advice. Informal exertion of influence, abuse of office or the logic of advantage can become legally relevant depending on the circumstances and should not be trivialized as a "local shortcut".
This is particularly critical in practice:

- Work permits: when deadlines, documents and responsibilities are softened by personal promises. Read more: Preparing a work permit in Montenegro.
- DOO / company formation: when "we know someone" supersedes register, tax or banking logic. Read more: Setting up a company in Montenegro ready for work.
- Banking issues: when purported relationships are supposed to replace actual verification and compliance logic. Read more: Prepare a company account in Montenegro realistically.
- Ownership / contracts: when personal proximity supersedes legal, cadastral or economic scrutiny. Read more: Real estate audit in Ulcinj and Montenegro.
